Cover in the Masses

Manasa is dragged into the Thieves' guild of the Underways by Sigar. After waking up, he witnesses Sigar trying to sell deeds he stole from the post office on the black market. Manasa helps him persuade some customers. Seeing Manasa's charisma he has with masses, Sigar offers him to start a cult-like scheme. They form the Cult of the Coin and Manasa peraches to his constituency for a few months, scheming them out of their money. Sigar tells him that he is about to rob some other elite cultists who want to summon something from the realm of Mechanus. Manasa is waiting with a bunch of his followers for Sigar's sign. In one moment, a portal opens and Lorkhan and Sigar fall out of it. Manasa sees the marut on the other side of the portal devastating the cult members, and he sends his own followers to the slaughter. The portal closes and Sigar tells Manasa that their deal is finished, before handing him is cut from the money they made.

The conversation with Maiko is suddenly interrupted by a loud noise and screaming. An oni has broken free in the city and the population is running away from the center. Weneon manages to sneak through the crowd and sees how the oni broke from the cage he saw Aster's men unloading from Taylor's ship. Weneon fires a few shots towards the oni, who, in turn, fires back, killing three civilians Weneon was trying to blend in. The oni raises the dead and turns them into wraiths. The rest of the party joins, trying to stop the oni.

After the fight, the party is informed that Taylor had no idea about the oni and thanks the party for saving the town. They agree to meet up at Taylor's tavern in the evening and leaves. Aran tries to explain to Kilijan why he sold his cape to Maiko, but Kilijan does not want to hear about it. He dismisses Aran's attempt of bonding. Aran leaves and Lorkhan goes after him. He tells Aran that he should retry bonding with Kilijan, but Aran explains that the cape was the only thing that kept him going and alive after he returned to Kelwentown and found Kilijan missing and his wife dead. It was the cape that made him leave the city in hope of protecting it. Aran then gives a toy to Lorkhan so he can gift it to Kilijan. It is a small souvenir from Muran, an alchemist kit. Part 3 As the party is celebrating at the restaurant, they learn more about how Aster is blaming them for wrecking his shipment. Taylor laughs it off and tells them not to worry. As they continue celebrating, a portal opens up. Everything around the party freezes except them. A marut steps out of the portal and takes his aim at them. He fires a shot towards Lorkhan, killing him instantly. He then aims to finish off the rest of the party.
