Synopsis

With death narrowly averted and Moonweft reeling, the party searches for answers. An unlikely ally awaits in the lighthouse—an aging bear named Tharn—who speaks of curses, islands, and a long-lost lightbulb. As the party investigates the coast, they find the missing object under the protection of an irritable turtle creature whose motives are as murky as the sea. With Greg's divine magic and the group's stubborn persistence, they secure the path forward—but the light has yet to shine.

Ch. 1
Part 1
Manasa climbs the cliff path to the lighthouse and finds Tharn: a massive bear humanoid in a worn, cozy sweater, sitting beside a long-cold beacon and a bottle of kelp whiskey. His eyes are yellowed, his voice gravelly, and his warnings unsettling. He speaks of Lorelei not as legend, but as fact—an entity that curses Moonweft and whispers from the coral island that haunts the fog just offshore. “She doesn’t kill,” Tharn says, “She empties.” He points toward the sea. A jagged island of pink coral shimmers faintly beyond the mist. “She lives out there. Can’t get to her easily. Not without light. I had one, once. Bulb bright enough to cut through her veil. But it's gone now—stolen.” He shakes his head and takes another swig. Manasa watches the sea in silence, the echo of Mura’s scream still heavy in her chest.
Ch. 2
Part 2
The rest of the party arrives at the lighthouse, greeted by Tharn with casual gruffness and unexpected hospitality. He offers them dried sea cucumber jerky and tells the tale of the missing lighthouse bulb: an arcane object bright enough to slice through the mist and reveal the path to Lorelei’s domain. But someone—or something—took it. “I’d go get it,” Tharn admits, “But the knees are shot. And the last time I tried, the thing growled at me and bit my good foot.” He gestures east, toward the jagged coast. “Some creature’s got it. Lives near the cliffs. Annoying bastard. You’ll know when you see it.” The party exchanges a look. They set out.
Ch. 3
Part 3
Following the crumbling shoreline east of Moonweft, the group navigates shifting sands, driftwood bridges, and tidepools that shimmer with unnatural light. Eventually, they find it: A massive turtle-creature half-submerged in a cove, its shell mottled with barnacles and seaweed, its flippers clawing at the sand. On its back—perched like a crown—is the missing lighthouse bulb, wrapped in kelp netting and glowing faintly. The turtle glares at them. It doesn’t speak. It judges. Every attempt at diplomacy is met with wet snorts, indignant grumbles, and slow, passive-aggressive repositioning. When Mycha offers food, the turtle snaps at his hand. When Weneon tries stealth, the turtle spins in its puddle and sits on the bulb. Enough is enough. Steel is drawn, spells fly, and the battle begins—not ferocious, but frustrating. The turtle seems more interested in wasting their time than hurting them. Until Greg lifts a hand and, with a sharp command, banishes the creature entirely—sending it sputtering back to the Material Plane in a swirl of seawater and fury. As the party returns to Tharn, they witness Selena entering the village of Moonweft. They watch her from the lighthouse, unable to help her, as the village people confiscate her robots Bug, Loop, and Break. Words
