Synopsis
Having broken free from Time's illusion, the party awakens in the belly of the beast—literally. Yastogmaika awaits, and so do her spawn. After a brutal fight, the group ascends through earth and blood, rising onto Lorelei’s coral island. There, atop a distant hill, she awaits with one final test. Her summoned army falls swiftly—but instead of scorn, she offers gifts: Recoating Stones, that can reshape identity before the end begins.
Ch. 1
Part 1
Their breath returns. So does the danger.
Yastogmaika still coils through her underwater lair, massive and furious, wounded by their resurrection. Her offspring swarm—slithering, snapping, coated in abyssal scales.
This time, the party is ready.
With blades drawn, spells roaring, and Selena collapsed behind them, they strike. Greg calls holy fire. Weneon dances through shadows. Manasa pierces scaled flesh. Mycha lets his madness guide his strategy.
The fight is brutal. The lair cracks with pressure and shifting tides. But the god-serpent falls. Her scream is silent. Her end—final.
Her children, leaderless, scatter into mist.
Yastogmaika is no more.
Ch. 2
Part 2
With the battle won, the cave begins to tremble. Selena, barely able to speak, warns them:
“The way in… was designed to confuse. You won’t find your way back. Don’t even try.”
Instead, they improvise.
With Greg’s divine channeling and Selena’s final ounce of guidance, they summon an Earth Elemental—massive, ancient, slow but determined. It begins digging upward, creating a winding tunnel of collapsing stone and heaving soil.
Hours pass.
They ascend.
Eventually, the elemental bursts through the final layer—revealing open sky.
They stand atop Lorelei’s island.
Mist rolls over pink sands and shattered coral fields. A still lake reflects the storm-colored sky. Across it, atop a hill of jagged bone-like stone, stands Lorelei.
Watching.
Waiting.
Ch. 3
Part 3
She speaks not in words, but in knowing.
“You’ve come far. But there is always one final test.”
With a wave of her hand, she summons an army of harengon—fey rabbitfolk soldiers in patchwork armor, hundreds of them, bounding into formation with giddy madness in their eyes.
The party doesn’t hesitate.
Steel meets fur.
The army falls. One by one.
No mercy. No pause. No illusion this time.
Lorelei watches with amusement—her smile unreadable.
“You’ve proven you are not what you once were.”
She lifts a handful of stones, glowing with strange shifting colors.
“Recoating Stones. Use them, if you wish. A final gift before you meet me. You may… reinvent yourselves.”
And with that, she turns—vanishing behind the hill’s crest.
The stones float midair.
Waiting to be claimed.
