Poem #3: Of Immortal Mountains and Mortal Men(Poem 3)

In whispers shared, the New Leaves chose their path, To Evereska's halls, seeking Mordenkainen's wrath. But rest they sought beneath the moonlit sky, When Elminster's form materialized with a sigh. He spoke of Acererak, and power untold, Of Mordenkainen's might, both fierce and bold. Then offered gifts, five capes of vibrant hue, Each woven with magic, born of heroes true. Lorilon's grace, Malcer's cunning gleam, Raijin's thunder, Bambara's healing stream, Darius's wisdom, in threads intertwined, Five Capes of Leaves, to empower minds. Phandalin's halls, Fossa's magic lore, Years untold, to activate the power they bore. Neverember's pleas, to Neverwinter's plight, Fell on deaf ears, in darkness of the night. Everesk's peak, their next and fateful stride, But Gambino's touch, left dragons slain, a chilling tide. Mordenkainen's tower, shattered like a dream, A simulacrum found, not what it seemed. Kidnapped and lost, the mighty mage's fate, Elminster's aid, their last remaining gate. Jagomir's shores, Arahna's tears unfurled, Where memories of Omihi's love held the world. Westgate's tales, a floating isle afar, Thunder Peaks ablaze, beneath a tyrant's star. Betrayal's sting, Neverember's face so cold, Gambino's power, a story yet untold. Lena's sacrifice, a psion's valiant stand, Her final breath, unleashed the Leaves' command. A beam of wrath, the island split in two, Arahna's fall, a hero's mournful hue. Elminster's voice, a distant, final sound, His daughter's life, his world now bound. The party stands, beneath the burning sky, As wreckage falls, and futures die. So ends their tale, with lessons dearly bought, Of power's price, and choices dearly sought. Though hope may fade, their journey's not in vain, For in their hearts, the spirit of the Leaves shall reign.
