Poem #8 (Wellcall Experience): Song of Capes (Malcer)(Poem 8)

Hark! A tale of Odd Wellcall I sing, A hero bold, with wanderlust to cling. In Phandalin she lingered for a while, Since Gambino's fall, with freedom's gentle smile. Sha Shou Ho, a friend of distant lands, Of Kara-Tur, she told her of golden sands. Twenty years Odd roamed that realm afar, Malcer's cloak a constant, guiding star. A gift of solace, from a kindred soul, Whose fate, like hers, remained a lonely hole. For Even lost, with Neverwinter's fall, Left Odd bereft, with no kin to call. From Zen archery to wise sensei's lore, Kara-Tur's wisdom, her spirit did explore. She learned of Sha, the rebel and the blade, Who slew the tyrant, and reclaimed her family’s land. In Raijin Park, Sha’s brother's watchful marble gaze, She'd delve in scrolls, of bygone, glorious days. Her heart transformed, with nature's gentle hand, A newfound peace, across the shifting land. By airship's grace, to Faerun she'd return, But fate's cruel wind, a fiery tempest's churn. The Thur Mountains claimed the vessel's pride, Yet Landor Vani, stayed by her wounded side. Love's blossom bloomed, beneath the mountain's hold, Brable they both built, a city brave and bold. One day, a call, from Omihi's plea, A quest for Nill, the lost middle child of her family. To the Sea of Swords she sailed and fought with might, Nill transformed and banished, in the tower out of sight. But shadows fell, with darkness taking flight. A curse fell on the childbearing bride. Vani saw the change, a creeping, cruel decay, Malcer's cloak, no solace for the day. No cure in sight for Odd’s cursed plight Death's icy grip, it claimed her valiant soul, Vani, consumed by grief, sought to make her whole. The fey he bargained with, a wicked twist, His name they stole, a twisted, feathered list. An immortal Kenku he became with memories faint and few, Odd's legacy, beneath the mountains he forgot true and true. More beast than man, less joy than woes Roaming Thur Valley as it’s valiant ghost Odd’s cloak remained, a symbol of her fight, Passed to Rarrosh, beneath the mountain's side. Until a spirit who wisdom seeks arrives And Shows mercy to the innocent instead of might So ends the tale, of Odd and Vani's plight, A hero's journey, bathed in fading light. May whispers of her deeds forever roam, The restless spirit, who found a mountain home.
