Ch. 1
Part 1
Weneon finds the captain’s logbook in the vault behind the painting. The logbook depicts what happened after the captain of the vessel Landor V. took command of the ship. He was contracted to fare to Kara-Tur and return after a few months; nothing special, a tourist fare. During the return to Faerun, Landor decided to take the route over the Thur Mountains. The ship was apparently caught in a storm and stranded onto the mountain top. The sole survivor being Landor and a high elf by the name of Odd. Besides the logbook, Weneon finds a wooden talisman in the shape of a man with his hands raised in the air, as if summoning something from above. Lorkhan, while looting the passengers’ corpses in the ship, realizes that something is awakening the skeletons. Kilijan, Manasa, and Mycha notice that the Medallion of Records starts flying intensely towards the ship. Weneon and Lorkhan make it to the deck and witness how a storm is forming above the ship. Vani fight final Vani appears and attacks them. The rest of the party joins soon after. During the fight, Vani seems as if possessed by a cocktail of grief and angst. Throwing at the party all that he’s got. He fails, however, to defeat them, and the final killing blow pushes the kenku spirit out of the body, which remains a human male. The spirit attacks the party. Weneon is inexplicably drawn towards the skies as he clutches the talisman he found in the vault, and the words “Is it cloudy?” drip over his lips, to which the Cape of Leaves worn by Kilijan starts to glow for a moment. A beat, and through the clouds above the ship, a lightning strikes down onto the kenku spirit, banishing him from the realm.

Part 2
As soon as the spirit of Vani is destroyed, the medallion of records unlocks Poem #8 (Wellcall Experience): Song of Capes (Malcer). The human body left behind after Vani’s defeat, weak and drawing his dying breaths, is recognized by the party as Landor Vani. He confirms to them the poem in the Medallion of Record they just heard, and tells them how he lost his name and memory by trying to find a way to bring Odd back to the living. The party accompanies Vani then to the resting place of Odd and buries him in the small lake, uniting the two lovers in eternity.
Ch. 3
Medallion of Records Vision (Poem #8)
The party learned about the past from the Medallion of Records Vision. Odd Wellcall remained in Phandalin for several years after the campaign against Gambino concluded. She had spoken with Sha Shou Ho over the preceding years about his homeland of Kara-Tur, which prompted Odd to decide she would visit it. Odd spent the next twenty years traveling throughout Kara-Tur, visiting the sights Sha Shou Ho had described to her. During her travels, Odd wore Malcer's Cape of Leaves constantly. The cape reminded her of the day she first received it, and she felt that Malcer's destiny of having no one to call family mirrored her own. She had lost her family after Even disappeared when Neverwinter vanished more than seventy years prior. Her time in Kara-Tur proved peaceful, and she gained much knowledge about its culture, particularly how to maintain balance with nature. Odd also learned about Kara-Tur's history, including how Sha Shou Ho had killed the emperor in his sleep, thereby returning the kingdom to its people. Her preferred place to read about Kara-Tur's history was Raijin Park, which featured a statue of Raijin, Sha Shou Ho's brother and an original member of the Leaves. Her philosophical outlook and view on life significantly changed during this period. Odd eventually returned to Faerun by airship, taking a route that passed through the Border Kingdoms. Her ship was caught in a severe storm and subsequently wrecked in the Thur Mountains. Odd almost died in the wreck, but a human male named Landor Vani rescued her. Odd and Landor Vani fell in love, and together they established the city of Brable beneath the Thur Mountains. One day, Omihi, Lorilon’s daughter, called upon Odd to assist with a quest, leading Odd to sail towards the Sea of Swords. This quest was connected to Odd and Even's lost brother, Nill. Upon her return, Landor Vani observed that Odd had been infected by something that Malcer's Cape of Leaves could not heal. Odd died soon after, and Landor Vani attempted to cure her by seeking the aid of the fey. The fey, however, tricked Landor Vani, took his name, and transformed him into an immortal kenku who retained only a faint memory of what he had sought. Malcer's Cape of Leaves remained in Brable for a time before Odd's son, Rarrosh, took it to the Thur Mountains.
Ch. 4
Part 3
The party returns to Brable and spends a week there. They explain to Rahool and the rest of the town’s folk what happened and that the arracokra led by Chani restore the safety to the Thur Valley. Rahool informs them about Octozan and how they established fine relations with the warden dragon in charge there. After leaving Brable, the party spends a few days in Thur, before leaving for Oeble. Vocci tells Mycha that their actions will probably make them wanted men in the Thur region, and mentions once more how a similar faith has struck Tommen as well.
Ch. 5
Part 4
During their downtime in Oeble, the party spent 4 months regrouping and gathering information about their next objectives. They decided to contact Endollyn and reaffirm their mission. She praised them in a letter about how satisfied she was for them to lie low for a few months as to prevent raising suspicions. The party asks them for a favor: a ship with which they can investigate further about the plot to kill her. She arranges one in Derlusk and the party makes their way there. Just a few hours north of Beldargen, however, their coach is intercepted by a shadowy figure, which turns out to be non other than Gambino, warning them to not believe everything Kossara is telling them through the Medallion of Records.
