Synopsis

The Uninvited gain the allegiance of the Redfeathers aarakocra tribe and explore the furthest heights of Thur Mountain.

Ch. 1
Part 1
The party gains insight into the first poem from the Medallion of Records. As the vision fades, one of the leaves from Kilijan's cape flies forth and touches each one of the party members. They are healed instantly, but Mycha experiences a rapid biological transformation in which his appearance changes into a significantly older version of himself. Kilijan approaches him and restores with the mending spell the emblem of the leaves on Mycha's armor. Kilijan tells him, in a strange way of speaking: "Talos forgives everything." The Uninvited decide to leave the plateau, but are intercepted by the aarakocra captain they met earlier while climbing the mountain. He introduces himself to the party as Chani from the Redfeathers, and swears allegiance to the wearer of Malcer's cape. He then goes on to explain to Kilijan that his tribe counts around 60 soldiers, scouts, and handlers who await instructions from their new general, Kilijan Mecha. Kilijan orders them to keep Thur Valley safe from human trafficking in the future. They then proceed to explore the lair of the dragon Haarp that attacked them previously.

Part 2
With the help of the Redfeathers, the party easily finds the dragon hoard in Haarp's lair and plunders it. Among the debris, they discover a dead and frozen body of a female elf, wearing both rouge-like equipment and a Thur guard uniform. Mycha investigates and finds a dog tag bearing the name Karena "Sly" McKinnon Jr. He, however, does not know her, but assumes she is part of one of the guard orders in Thur, based on her uniform. The party and the Redfeathers continue to trace their steps back down Thur Mountain, and arrive at the abandoned camp where they found the stranded ox. The aarakocra clean up the bodies of the fallen Redfeathers and dig into the snown-in cave from where the party has heard a voice earlier that day. They discover a human merchant by the name of Adrian Bravis. It seems like he was trapped inside the cave for a significant amount of time. His eyes and his entire face witness great hunger and starvation. He explains that he was part of a covert mission to deliver delirium to Endolynn Redstream in Oeble. He traveled with the shipment all the way from Kara-Tur, to Baulder's Gate, and to the Border Kingdoms. Karena brought them to this place in the mountains, and he does not know why. They got lost and were attacked by wild beasts, who killed most of them. Kilijan leaves the decision of what to do with him to Chani. The Redfeather captain asks Adrian one question: "Are you responsible for the death of my men?" Adrian answers with "no", and Chani believes him. Weneon then gives Adrian 10 gold pieces and they leave him to fend for himself.

Part 3
Roc attack The party arrives at Rarrosh's home. He is delighted to see the cape on Kilijan and asks of him to find out what happened to Odd and what their mission was before she died. Kilijan promises him to fulfill the destiny of the cape. Chani orders his scouts to strap the party members in flight-harness and they take off from Rarrosh's palteau down to Thur Valley. As they fly through the clouds, they are attacked by flying beasts in mid-air. They manage to fight them off, but are then intercepted by a giant roc. The fight ends by Weneon shooting the roc through the beak, just as it was about to escape to it's nest on a high cliff in the Thur Mountains. The party spots the plateau where the giant flying ship above Brable is stranded. They fly down and investigate the ship's interior. The Medallion of Records starts to glow as they enter the ship. The medallion then starts to fly and leads them to the passenger cabin of Odd Wellcall. Kilijan discovers her diary and manages to infer two entries from the old pages. One entry tells the story of how Odd is gladd to finally travel back home to Faerun after spending a significant amount of time in Kara-Tur. The other entry is much darker, as she was facing death she wrote about how she found a suitable spot for her grave high above the home she had built. The medallion then starts flying towards the stairs to the roc's nest, a few hundred feet from the stranded ship. Kilijan and Mycha follow it. Lorkhan plunders the corpses of the centuries-old passengers onboard the ship. Weneon investigates the captain's cabin. He manages to find a hidden safe behind a painting of a Kara-Tur landscape. He remembers the last heist he did with Safwalyn. In a warehouse in Emrys where they came across a similar painting of a Kara-Tur landscape. In the midst of the heist, they looked intensely at the painting, forgetting for a moment where they were. Wellcall Ship Safwalyn then asked Weneon if he would ever take her to places like the one in the picture. He confirms that he would. She tells him that, when he says the words "Let's travel to the east", she would trust him, no questions asked, and just leave with him. The images of this scene with Safwalyn echo through Weneon's mind as stands in front of the Kara-Tur landscape in the captain's cabin. He feels a mechanism underneath the painting's frame. He pushes it and hears a click.
