The Orc Slayers, Malcer Lynk Hornraven, Lorilon Duskwalker, Kosara Amakir, Ana Kinn, Emmen, and Omihi Kakurenbo, had arrived in Helm's Hold. The party was joined by Gambino Marino, a gnome wizard. Several giant spiders were visible, moving among the structures, just as they had been on their initial approach to the hold. They helped kill them. As they walked, they noticed a general undercurrent of unrest. Conversations overheard in passing often turned to a single topic. People spoke in hushed tones, or with noticeable tension in their voices. The townsfolk seemed preoccupied with a forthcoming event. Whispers mentioned a wedding. Malcer Lynk Hornraven and the others began to pick up on various minor disputes and worries among the residents.
