Malcer Lynk Hornraven, Lorilon Duskwalker, Kosara Amakir, Ana Kinn, Emmen, Gambino Marino, and Omihi Kakurenbo continued their mission in the ancient sewer system beneath Helm's Hold. They navigated the labyrinthine passages, searching for the cultists the paladins had tasked them to deal with. Their search led them to a deeper, concealed chamber that smelled of ozone and damp earth. Within this hidden space, they discovered a robed figure, a mage named Constant, who was actively performing a dark ritual. Constant was clearly a member of the Cult of Orcus, judging by the symbols emblazoned on his garments and the objects arranged around him. As Malcer Lynk Hornraven, Lorilon Duskwalker, Kosara Amakir, Ana Kinn, Emmen, Gambino Marino, and Omihi Kakurenbo entered the chamber, Constant reacted swiftly. He completed a final incantation, and a form began to coalesce from the shadows beside him, quickly solidifying into a menacing shadow demon. A battle began in the confined space. Malcer Lynk Hornraven engaged Constant directly, while Lorilon Duskwalker and Kosara Amakir focused their efforts on the newly summoned shadow demon. Ana Kinn, Emmen, and Omihi Kakurenbo moved to contain Constant, preventing him from completing further rituals. Gambino Marino provided magical support, unleashing spells against both targets. The fight was intense, with Constant conjuring defensive barriers and the shadow demon striking with chilling precision. They managed to destroy Constant and, shortly after, defeat the shadow demon, bringing an end to the immediate threat. With Constant and his summoned creature dispatched, Malcer Lynk Hornraven, Lorilon Duskwalker, Kosara Amakir, Ana Kinn, Emmen, Gambino Marino, and Omihi Kakurenbo decided not to investigate the cult's presence further in that chamber. Their primary objective had been met. They turned and retraced their steps through the winding sewer passages. The group eventually found an exit point and emerged back into the familiar air of Helm's Hold. The town was alive with activity, a festival seemingly in full swing, with banners and music filling the streets. Malcer Lynk Hornraven, Lorilon Duskwalker, Kosara Amakir, Ana Kinn, Emmen, Gambino Marino, and Omihi Kakurenbo joined the festivities. They soon found themselves drawn into a series of drinking games, competing with various townsfolk and enjoying the lively atmosphere with Markantni Marko. The group celebrated their recent victory and the brief respite from their subterranean endeavors.
