Ch. 1
Part 1
The Orc Slayers, Malcer Lynk Hornraven, Lorilon Duskwalker, Kosara Amakir, Ana Kinn, Gambino Marino, Emmen, and Omihi Kakurenbo, moved further into the depths of the ancient sewer system. The passages grew narrower and the air became thick with the scent of damp stone and something acrid.
They encountered strange writings etched into the subterranean walls. The symbols appeared to glow with a faint, infernal light.
As they examined the unsettling script, a chest that had blended into the background shifted abruptly. It revealed itself to be a mimic, opening with a wet, tearing sound as it displayed teeth and eye stalks.
At the same moment, two flameskulls coalesced from the shadows. Their burning eye sockets fixed on the group, and they floated ominously towards the adventurers.
A fight began in the confined space. The mimic lunged with its pseudopod, while the flameskulls unleashed blasts of fire.
Ana Kinn engaged one of the hovering flameskulls, her attacks quick and precise.
The mimic then struck Ana Kinn with a powerful blow.
Ana Kinn fell to the slick, dark floor, her movements ceased.
The mimic and flameskulls seemed to quiet after their attack, their immediate aggression satisfied.
Malcer Lynk Hornraven, Lorilon Duskwalker, Kosara Amakir, Emmen, and Omihi Kakurenbo stood over the fallen Ana Kinn. The battle had unexpectedly claimed one of their own.
With Ana Kinn gone, the remaining Orc Slayers understood their new, pressing objective. They needed to find a way to reverse what had happened.
Their task now involved searching for a necromancer, with their information suggesting such a figure could be found somewhere near Port Last.
