Ch. 1
Part 1
Luvian Mahkeep spoke to the group, outlining his proposal. He described a nearby orc camp, stating that the orcs had captured a wyvern. Luvian Mahkeep suggested attacking the camp to free the creature. Malcer Lynk Hornraven, Lorilon Duskwalker, Kosara Amakir, Ana Kinn, Emmen, and Omihi Kakurenbo considered Luvian Mahkeep’s words. The party agreed to the plan and decided to move on the orc camp. They approached the camp cautiously, moving through the undergrowth. As they neared, the sounds of orc activity became clearer. Malcer Lynk Hornraven led the initial charge into the camp. The orcs responded quickly, grabbing their crude axes and shields. A fierce battle erupted in the center of the camp. Lorilon Duskwalker moved swiftly, engaging the first orc to appear. Kosara Amakir and Ana Kinn provided ranged support, felling several opponents. Emmen and Omihi Kakurenbo held the line, preventing the orcs from swarming them. Luvian Mahkeep slipped through the melee, targeting a large iron cage at the far end of the camp. Inside, a wyvern thrashed against its bindings. One of the orc warriors stumbled, tripping over a discarded weapon just as a heavy blow from Malcer Lynk Hornraven connected. The orc fell. Another orc’s arrow missed Omihi Kakurenbo by a narrow margin, embedding itself in a tree trunk instead. Luvian Mahkeep picked the lock on the wyvern’s cage with unexpected speed. The wyvern roared, shaking its head free of a crude muzzle. With its sudden freedom, the wyvern lashed out at the remaining orcs in the camp. Its attack scattered the orcs, breaking their morale. The party pressed their advantage, finishing off the few orcs who did not flee. The battle concluded, leaving several fallen orcs and a newly freed wyvern. The wyvern, after a moment, regarded the group. It then spread its leathery wings and ascended into the sky, circling once before heading south. The camp was now quiet, save for the sounds of wind through the trees.
