We witness Manasa and Chronos hiding in an alley in Neverwinter while watching a carriage being inspected by a city guard. As soon as the guard leaves, Chronos approaches the driver and Manasa sneaks behind him. Atlas is watching them from a rooftop on the other side of the street.
Chronos is spotted by the driver and hit with his sheeted sword in the face. Manasa runs towards him, but fails to stop him from calling for help. Manasa kills the driver and stores the body underneath the carriage. The guard runs back to them and confronts them. Atlas leaps from the rooftop and intimidates the guard into leaving. He then tells Manasa that, if one murder is committed that night, another one makes no difference, and pulls out a dagger and throws it towards the guard, killing him instantly.
Ch. 2
Part 1
The party is in their quarters in Brable. They see the commotion in front of the community center. Amnen arrived with two fawns in hand. Rahool orders the fawns to be taken away as the party approaches.
Immediately they realize that Amnen is in no condition to talk coherently. Lorkhan casts calm emotions onto him, and they ask him what happened. He recalls being left behind with two children by the party. He then explains that he followed them, but could not find them. Kilijan is furious and tells him that he should have listened to them.
Rahool, seeing that the conversation is stuck in accusations, tells Amnen to rest and invites the party for a drink in the community center.
Inside the community center, Rahool pours a drink for himself and for the party. He asks them where the "halfling" is, to which they explain that he hasn't returned from his training session.
Rahool demands that the party explains what happened. They tell him everything that happened in the goblin settlement and after it was cleaned out. They also inform him of the curse from Vani and how he hunts them in the feywild. Mycha explains that they did not want to burden him with that information because he shares the last name with him.
Rahool then explains that Vani was a distant relative of his and that he became a subject of myth and legend in these parts of the Border Kingdoms. He seeked immortality, but was cursed to a form of a kenku wandering the woods of Thur Valley for eternity.
Weneon arrives and tells them that Safwalyn took the cape and that he followed her outside the city, but decided to return. Rahool and the rest of the party is shocked by this information, but Rahool seems to accept his honesty. Weneon then gives a scroll of locate animal to Manasa in order to try to locate the bird form Safwalyn took. Manasa, however, fails to sense anything in the radius of 5 miles.
The party then explains that they saw cultists carrying young fawns to sacrifice near a ruined tower. Rahool explains that a handful of cultists polymorph animals into humanoid children to sacrifice for the return of the founding high-elf of Brable. He tells them that the clan is harmless, although their practices are relatively weird and on the verge of good taste.
Out of ideas, Rahool suggests finding Rarrosh, Amnen's distant relative in the Thur Mountians, to see if he could locate the cape. Kilijan asks Rahool why the cape is of such great importance to the village, to which Rahool answers that the cape kept strong magic users at bay with its sheer magical aura and that he does not know what will happen now that the cape is missing.
The party decides to visit Rarrosh in the mountains. Rahool orders two scouts to guide them, now that the goblin threath is taken care of and the passage to the mountain is secure once more. Everyone except Weneon leaves to sleep. Rahool tells Weneon, once they are alone, that he is glad he decided to return, but that he must also be aware of the punishment that awaits the thief of the cape, which is death.
Ch. 3
Part 2
Janosh and Bronzor guide the party the next day through the mountains. Besides a couple of wolf encounters, the path they take is secure. Before they left Brable in the morning, Amnen approached Wenenon and gave him the amulet of records to take it with him.
After two days travel, the party arrives in the mountains. The scouts inform them that they reached the far end of their hunting grounds and point them in the direction where Rarrosh supposedly lives. The party continues to travel alone deeper into the mountains.
Harsh winds make their excursion much harder towards the end of 25. 5. 868. They spot a few giant birds making nests at a cliff side and decide to seek shelter in a nearby cave inside the mountain.
As they enter, they notice that the walls are covered in ice and realize the floor is scattered with bones of wildlife. They make camp. Mycha sets up an alarm at the entrance of the cave, and they go to sleep, withstanding once more them being pulled into the feywild.
One hour after midnight, the alarm goes off, and the party is attacked by a huge yeti. They fight him off and discover a treasure chest underneath a frozen puddle in one part of the cave. Lorkhan teleports the chest out of the water, and Weneon opens it.
They find bars of mythral in the chest, covering the actual cargo: eight bottles of the green potion Weneon drank during their last encounter with Vani. They find a letter signed by a Kara-Tur official stating that the shipment of delirium is meant for Lady Endolynn. Beneath the bottles, Weneon discovers eight files of children, medical records of some sort signed with the name Vates.
Inspecting the cave again before they go to sleep, the party finds a severed human arm holding a paper clutched in its palm. The paper is some kind of table listing of wares, while on the backside the words: "It is weak to poison." are scribbled in blood.
Lorkhan, having tried earlier to skin the yeti, realizes that his epidermic layer seems to confirm the note talking about the yeti.
Ch. 4
Part 3
Just as the party wants to go to sleep, they hear another creature approaching the cave, but stopping right before the entrance. They hear the breathing of the creature loud and clear, while a hailstorm is waving over the mountains outside.
The party decides to wait until midnight and let the feywild take them on purpose.
The materialize in Vernes in the feywild. Amidor and Melcior are sitting in their gear looking at them once they materialize, and Melcior says to Amidor that he was right. They are in the guest house. Through the window, they see 100 vernes archers surrounding the house waiting for them to come out.
Melcior tells Manasa that Amidor spied on them all night long, learning that the blue vernes Selies does not possess his brother Atlas's name, but he knows who does. She instructs Manasa to make sure to save his brother in the village and not kill Selies if jhe sees him.
She then tells the party that she spoke with Amidor and thought long and hard about how the party stepped up to help Amidor in his quest, and even agreed to her quest without questioning anything. She tells them that the last fight was not theirs, but that this one is, as she gets up from her chair, picks up her war hammer, and stomps open the door, ready to fight alongside the party against the vernes army.
