Security Protocols

The party made their way into Elminster's tower, leaving Sagiato and Kilijan just outside the entrance. Sagiato produced a leather bag from his cloak and presented it to Kilijan. Kilijan took the bag, noting its unexpected weight. Sagiato then told Kilijan, "Here, for you. They asked for a quick death. They did not get one." Kilijan opened the bag, confirming the contents were the five severed heads of the Five Fingers of Garresh. He looked at Sagiato. Kilijan asked Sagiato how he had managed such a feat. Sagiato explained he had first found a male human, cornering him in a narrow passageway before severing an artery in his leg, leaving him to bleed out over a prolonged period. He next described tracking a female elf across the rooftops. Sagiato recounted breaking her spine in a fall, leaving her conscious but paralyzed for hours before she expired. Sagiato then spoke of capturing a brutish orc, whom he stripped of his gear and left in a disused ice cellar to succumb to the cold. The fourth, a nimble halfling, had been trapped in a section of a sewer pipe. Sagiato sealed both ends and waited until the halfling drowned in the rising water. Finally, Sagiato detailed the fate of the leader, a scarred half-elf, who had endured a series of escalating torments before eventually dying from blood loss and exhaustion. After Sagiato finished his recounting, he and Kilijan entered Elminster's tower, joining John, Weneon, Mycha, and Ketojan inside.

Part 2 The party found themselves inside Elminster’s tower. Moments after their entry, the security system activated throughout the structure. A synthesized voice echoed through the halls, stating, "Recursive error. Defence protocol activated." Four drones then materialized in front of the party, initiating their defence protocol. The party dealt with the drones, neutralizing the initial threat. After the four drones were dispatched, a larger, mustached drone appeared. This new drone introduced itself as Mr. Cogsworth. Mr. Cogsworth extended an invitation to the party, suggesting they come inside to rest. He guided them to the leisure room, situated on the ground floor of the tower. While in the leisure room, Selena looked around the space. Selena recognized specific details and sensations that resonated with her childhood memories. However, she also observed elements that felt intrinsically linked to her past, though she had no personal recollection of experiencing them. The party considered their next steps within the tower. They collectively decided to take a period of rest before continuing their exploration.
